The initial set up of "PM2000", to make allowance for our various seaming machines and the way that we worked, was fairly painless. One of the guys from "MAP" came down to our site and spent a couple of days going through and setting up the required parameters.
After 6 Months or so of using "PM2000" our draughtsmen started to use "Cad-Duct" (also from MAP) incorporated with "AutoCAD". As you would expect, "PM2000" and "Cad-Duct" work very well together. We have 4 draughtsmen up stairs using "Cad-Duct". They draw it, send it down to me. I check it, and hit the "Process All" button. This nests the patterns, writes the NC program for the plasma and prints out the pattern, straight and frame lists. I then give those to the guys in the workshop, simple as that.
We have now been using the software for over 4 years, during that time we have taken advantage of the support offered by "MAP" and kept up to date with the up-grades as they come out. The people at "MAP" certainly don't seem to sit back and let the software grow old gracefully; it is constantly being tweaked and refined.
The "eBLVD" remote access assistance has been used a few times over the past year and has made the sorting of any problems very straight forward. If I have a problem or question, I ring "MAP", one of their guys logs onto my machine, we go through the problem over the phone, they then talk me through the solution whilst they work on my PC.....sorted.
All in all we are very happy with all aspects of the software and support offered by "MAP" it makes our working life that bit more, straight forward. The way we use "PM2000" and "Cad-Duct" together removes human error and improves our bottom line....Cheers "MAP". |
